News and Community
Welcome to the Webb Parents Association
The Webb Parents Association (WPA) was organized in 2008 with the mission “to promote participation of parents and families to enrich the Webb experience through communication and support in keeping with the institution’s traditions, goals and standards of excellence.”
Parents new to Webb are invited to learn more about the school and the WPA by registering and visiting this website, which includes WPA meeting minutes and by-laws, photos, a discussion board, and information about the school and the surrounding community, and Winter Work.
This is the Webb Parents Association private, online community created exclusively for family members of Webb students – past, present and future. It is a secure, password-protected environment established by Webb Institute.
Once you register, an email will be sent to confirm your membership and validate your email address. Be sure to click on the link in this email so your account can be activated.

Regional Alumni Events
Fellow Parents,
A series of regional alumni events will be held over the next several months. These regional events follow two meetings of your Class Agents at Webb Institute. At the Class Agent’s meetings on October 15th, Webb Trustees presented historical and current data on Webb’s operating budgets, endowment investments, and development efforts. President Olsen and Dean Neilson have discussed academics at Webb, student life, and the status of our buildings and grounds. Class Agents have given their perspectives as Alumni and Class Agents. These meetings have been very well received.
In recent years, the Board of Trustees has made numerous changes to its operations in order to engage all stakeholders and enhance transparency of its work. For example, in addition to the President of the Alumni Association, the Board now includes the Dean, a representative from the Faculty, a recent graduate, and a student member. Non-Trustees serve together with Trustees on many of the Board committees. The Class Agent meetings were another step in this effort to improve communications amongst the Trustees, Administration and our Alumni. At the encouragement of many of the participants, we have decided to take the show on the road to several locations around the country.
Listed below are the location and dates for each event, together with the name and email address of the coordinator for each event...

Gifts that Support Webb Operations
We wish to extend our sincere appreciation to the donors who supported Webb’s last capital campaign. Your generosity made Webb’s Emergency Generator possible. Never have the benefits of that gift been felt so acutely as recently when the remnants of Hurricane Irene struck. Our neighbors on the Sound were without electricity for days, whereas Webb and our students didn’t miss a beat, nor did they miss any classes! It was business as usual with no disruptions in our electrical service, thanks to you. Another example of a gift that keeps on giving – thank you!
Webb’s Parent Annual Fund effort kicked off on Saturday, September 17 th during Family Weekend. The group of parent volunteers, led by Alison and Hal Granger P’14, was greeted by Webb’s President Olsen, and spent the morning writing letters of appeal to fellow parents. The parents’ goals this year are for 100% parent participation and a dollar amount of $100,000. Thank you to all the parent volunteers for their efforts on behalf of Webb. If you wish to be involved as a volunteer, please contact Alison or Hal Granger or Carol McLaughlin at cmclaughlin@webb-institute.edu

Webb Parents Association Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
A meeting of the Webb Parents Association held on the morning of May 21, was led by Peter Needham P'12, the Parents Association Chairman, and was attended by nearly a dozen parents. The meeting began with a ribbon cutting for the newly renovated “Waterview Dining Room” made possible by the Webb Parents Association leadership and generous parent donations to this project.
